Summary: I purchased the Nuvi 275T because is has the European and USA maps loaded. I was expecting to use this device as I walked through the streets of Barcelona, Spain. Other than being used for a clock (it grabs the time from satellites), I found this device to be utterly useless. I was there for a week and about 80% of the time I could not get a lock on the satellites in order to locate my poistion.
Summary: Just used my Nuvi 275 in London and I must say that I was very disappointed with it operating in pedestrian mode. First it takes a very long time( >5min) to lock when you come out of the tube ( subway ) even in an open area. Secondly in pedestrian mode it would not route you down a one-way street (sidewalks are not one-way). So you have the large loops which work fine in a car but way too long for walking in circles.
Summary: I got the nuvi 275T with great expectations and excited about the cool new traffic alert feature. Unfortunately all of this was flushed away very soon. 1. The GPS keeps giving the message "Poor satellite reception" every 15 mins. It recovers though, but well it keeps happening so it is annoying. 2. Battery life just 2 hours!!! 3.
Summary: First the good: The Nuvi 275T is a capable navigator that gives precise spoken instructions and seems to find good routes to specified locations. The display is nice and even readable in adverse lighting situations. The battery life could be a bit longer that one could use it on a bike or for hiking. It runs less than 4 hours, and the batteries cannot be exchanged (this also means it will die an ipod-style death in a couple of years).
