Summary: Comments about Garmin nuvi 270 Automobile Navigator: We bought this for use in the U.K. where we will be living for the next three years. From our initial use we are very happy with the units performance.
Pros: Acquires Satellites Quickly, Compact, Easy Menus, Easy To Read, Easy To Set Up, Large Screen, Reliable Performance, Simple Controls
Summary: I bought the Nuvi a few weeks ago for use in Ireland. It was much cheaper to buy a portable GPS than rent a car with one installed. Overall it worked very well. I did run into a few problems with recently installed roundabouts which weren't in the maps but nothing major.
Summary: I bought this because it was about the lowest cost way to get both US and European maps in a compact, travel-friendly package. I am not displeased. It does basically what is it supposed to do.
Good device, could use some more user-friendliness

Summary: I will preface this review by admitting my own bias: I have quite possibly the worst sense of direction in the known universe, so I am going to love ANYTHING that helps me get lost less often. So obviously, I love this thing. I don't know what I used to do without it.
Summary: The Garmin Nuvi 270 is useful, cheap, compact, and has a simple interface. But, some simple additions to the firmware would make it more useful to the majority of its users. I have not compared it to similar units or other consumer electronics with similar displays and batteries etc.
Summary: I recently acquired a Nuvi-270 and have spent a few days playing with it. ________________________________ Pros: 1) Simple to use. All basic functions are simple enough for a novice user. 2) The updated maps are extremely accurate. 3) Some fun customizations available.
Summary: I took the NUVI 270 on a trip to Spain, specifically selecting it for the European maps. Most of the time was spent sightseeing by foot. I never had a problem with the battery running out on me during tours of several hours (I would turn it off once I found where I was going).
Summary: I travel in Europe as part of my job. Historically, I have always used maps. I purchased this Garmin as an option and tried it last time there (Germany, Belgium and Lux). I chose this one as it has the European maps already loaded.
Summary: Had this for a couple of months, it really works well. It does get confused soemtimes, especially around large highway interchanges where you have parallel roads and multiple exits. The single biggest complaint I have is the touch screen keyboard. Garmin... PUT A QWERTY KEYBOARD INTERfACE!!!!!!!!!!!
