Summary: I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 270, with US and Europe maps (I'm going to be traveling in Europe soon). When I registered the device, I was informed that both maps needed to be updated, and I could update either of them for free, but not both.
Summary: I bought the Nuvi a few weeks ago for use in Ireland. It was much cheaper to buy a portable GPS than rent a car with one installed. Overall it worked very well. I did run into a few problems with recently installed roundabouts which weren't in the maps but nothing major.
Summary: This was my first GPS, and I don't know how I survived without it! I get lost in my own neighborhood and wasted lots of money and time trying to find myself. This Garmin is very easy to use and reduces my tension tremendously. It is a terrific value.
Summary: This is a great navigator! Works great in city areas, can set multiple destinations within one trip, I have yet to have a problem. The one thing I can’t figure out is downloading different voices for the navigator.
Summary: Purchased the Nuvi 270 as our older Garmin was taken in a smash and grab. This is so compact, I took it with me to Vegas. The clarity and graphics are excellent. I really like it better than our previous Garmin GPS. My daughter now wants to replace her GPS with the Nuvi.
Summary: I bought this because it was about the lowest cost way to get both US and European maps in a compact, travel-friendly package. I am not displeased. It does basically what is it supposed to do.
Summary: First of all, Garmin rules the GPS world. I used a Tom Tom before and my 2008 Lexus has the factory navigation. Garmin is by far better then those two, and much more user friendly. I used it all over the USA and in Europe.
Summary: I bought Nuvi for vacation trip in Spain. Maybe, map was too old. GPS directions were confusing in 30%. Sometimes GPS advised to exit highway just 80 km before destination point or just was showing car off road between mountains.
