Summary: Before i got the delivery, when i was reviewing some descriptions it's showing the unit will have US & Canada Map, i was just thinking this is for sure, but after i got it yesterday, what i thought was wrong, when i search the Canada address i wanna go, i still can choose the country, Canada, but when i typed the city name, Vancouver, or any other cities in Canada, it's showing no data found, i really don't know why, but the map for US is full of details, very nice.
Summary: The first one had several glitches so I decided to send it back while I could. At first I thought something was wrong with it until I got the second one and it has the same glitches. Things would lock up, the sound would not work at times when putting in an address (I like to hear the beep it's supposed to make when putting in address so I know it registered the touch), I would turn the unit off when getting out of the car so my i-phone would not still be connected and...
Summary: Not really impressed with this product. The routes it is giving me are sub-par. The google maps on my iphone is always more up to date and provides me with more direct and faster routes. not sure if it is a settings issue or what, but i'd expect it to provide the best results out of the box. no? anyway, it does the job for the time being but i probably would have returned it if I had kept the packaging! Also, i paid about $90 for this.
Summary: I'll preface this negative review by saying I also have a Garmin Nuvi 1450 in my wife's car and a Garmin 536 chart plotter in my boat both of which I am very happy with. I just returned from vacation, I drove from Albany NY to Myrtle Beach SC. I have done this drive several times over the years I like traveling the coast as opposed to I-95, so I follow US 13 down the Delmarva peninsula to Norfolk Va and then US 17 south through the Carolinas.
Summary: the gps unit is very accurate and quickly locate the gps signal. good for long trips.however if you are using it on a daily basis to go from job to job you will find the touch screen keypad quite irritating.it is very sloppy and very hard to use. also the auto complete feature on the keypad is very slow. you basically have to type out the entire address before it will come up with any possible suggestions.
Summary: I bought two GPS for to use in South America and I want to enter the maps of the following countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. I request your help in indicating me where I get the maps updated. Thanks.
Summary: The on/off switch on my unit slid back and forth when i tilted the unit left or right. I was able to turn it on by connecting the unit into my hard drive with the USB cable. A quick online search showed that many other users had this same problem with the switch after they'd had the unit for a while and were unable to get refunds. Garmin fixes it for about $100. I'm returning my unit for a refund as i just bought it.
Summary: The voice on my garmin is at such a low volume, I really cant understand what she is saying when the wind noise competes with her, it makes the Garmin a real loser and the volume control is at maximum.
Summary: This is my third Garmin GPS product, and I am very disappointed. While most of it behaves as expected, it would appear that Bluetooth functionality was not properly tested. About one connection in four fails, and I have to re-connect. Not what I want for a hands-free speakerphone. If I attempt to do anything with the GPS shortly after the Bluetooth connection, the device will freeze, requiring a hard reboot in order to work.
