Summary: This GPS takes me on so many strange routes in my area, I'd never trust it all by itself to guide me in a new town. Also it doesn't tell you how to start. It just says "Go to designated route," & it shows you a map. It has FM traffic, but it doesn't know the difference between a traffic light at the end of a highway or a momentary slowdown & a very bad traffic jam, so it often wants you to detour needlessly.
Summary: I bought this GPS from Amazon specifically for a trip to Hawaii. During road tests in southern California, it worked fine - I periodically saw Walgreens ads etc related to the free traffic reports. It does seem to take longer than my car's built-in GPS to locate satellites etc though.
