Summary: These are obviously USED units, sold as new. The first unit I received was set to Turkish .with Muslim mEcca calls to prayer. . I can't recall exactly what it was, but it was obviously NOT original. So I got tired of the weirdness ... even after finally resetting it to English. .. and asked for a replacement. The replacement arrived, unwrapped, unsealed. . .working fine. I guess. . but obviously has been taken out of packaging.
Summary: I wanted to update my Garmin from the three year old Nuvi 660 to the Nuvi 2557. To be honest, I expected more. Yes, the screen is about ¼ inch larger in each direction, but the pixels, the screen resolution seems to be about the same. It ain't no Retina display. I tried to update the software (via USB, supplied), using the 'Garmin Express' software which I downloaded. For five hours, the progress bar displayed "Downloading file 190 of 191".
Summary: This model was recommended by a Garmin representative to replace our older 1450 LMT. It was supposed to be a comparable model. My wife dislikes it. It is not similar at all. The displays that we like the most are hidden and must use touch screen to see them. We like our old model better.
Summary: I bought this product a few weeks ago...and wish I had not. 1. Product immediately failed to install map updates and european map. Spent over 3 hours with support which escalated up the chain until I had a dedicated specialist go into hidden menus...to make a long story short...none of their provided software worked...we had to manually download, edit hidden files and folders...etc. Wow...did they even test this product ? 2. Tried to use again while driving.
Summary: I just got my new Garmin Nuvi 2597/LMT and I like it. However, if I stray from its directions it gives me no audible warning. It does not say Recalculating. This is extremely annoying. So much so that I can not recommend this unit. If I miss a turn or an exit in a place that is new to me I get no clue that I'm going the wrong way. Eventually it give me new directions to get back on track.
Summary: I bought 3 of the Garmin nüvi 2557LMT. After not even five months of occasional use, one is constantly freezes and the touch screen of another is totally useless at times. It would jump to other positions instead of the one being pressed. Very disappointed at this Garmin model.
Summary: I got this Garmin 2597LMT today and it's going back tomorrow. I can't say it's defective but it is not user friendly at all. This is my 3rd Garmin so I am familiar with them and have been happy up to this point. Here are my reasons for giving up on this Garmin so quickly. 1. My other Garmin's had the "Eco Route" feature where as you would input your vehicle profile as it relates to mileage both city and highway manually along with average gas prices.
Thing twice before purchasing a 2597LMT Garmin....only does a fraction of what it is supposed to do

Summary: I studied GPS's for 2 months trying to figure out what the better GPS was between garmin and TomTom. I read all the reviews and read all the things that both could do and finally decided to get the garmin 2597LMT. So far, I can see that this GPS can do maybe 50% of what it was supposed to do. It is supposed to get lifetime traffic....but they don't tell you that you have to purchase a $70 cable in order to get the HD Traffic.
