Summary: I ordered this GPS because my previous GPS, by Magellan, suddenly was unable to find a satellite after less than 2 years. This unit does 2 things well that the MAgellan didn't do at all or did poorly: as long as I keep it plugged in, it finds a satellite immediately, instead of taking 5 or 6 minutes...
Summary: I'm not sure how this navigates around the rest of the united states, but in Boston and its surrounding 'burbs, it is laughably unhelpful. My job occasionally requires me to travel throughout this area by car, so this is verily a problem. I often have better luck by printing out google maps.
Summary: This is my second Garmin product and the display brightness is very poor to where I can hardly see it during daylight hours. The brightness is set to 100% but my first Garmin GPS was MUCH brighter so I'm assuming something is wrong and I'll try to exchange it when I return from vacation.
Summary: First I wanted to give myself a piece of mind by giving Mom a gift of Don’t get lost. She hates Driving on highways, driving at night. And reading and map just adds more distractions for a blind women. This Unit speaks to you but from the unit only.

31 March 2012
Excerpt: LCD screen is a excellent sizeThe GPS quickly fits in a bag when on the road. You'll almost certainly get to your destination. 1. The suggested routes are terrible. The GPS doesn't recognize that getting off the highway and generating numerous turns will take additional time.two.
Summary: The unit as supplied does not have enough memory to hold Europe-wide maps, so I bought a suitable SD card. This worked OK, though downloading refreshed maps took hours till Garmin replaced their PC software last year.
Summary: This overhauled product appears to be as good as buying the new version, which you are lead to believe by some of the customer feedback, BUT it is supplied with maps more than two years out of date - THE GARMIN FREE UPDATE IS NOT AVAILABLE.
Summary: Good: - Speed of satellite acquisition - Mechanical suction cup to windscreen (My TomTom falls off, the Garmin doesn't) Bad: - Software freezes routinely. The only way to get it going again is to shut down multiple times and wait - sometimes hours.
Summary: I have been using my Navman bought 3 years ago and which although an old model and without any perks, and dare I say it, absolutely rubbish when travelling in and around London, it did the job, and it found most addresses.
