GARMIN'S nuvi 255W has a similar design and user interface to most of the company's other GPS units. This is good news for consumers, as the ease of use and simple map display will please most. Read more

Garmin announced Garmin Nuvi 255 an update to the Nuvi 200 line at CeBit today that makes their entry level devices a lot more appealing. As prices fall, and more consumers get into the market with an entry level unit, Garmin is upping the bar in the hyper competitive low end of the market. The new Garmin Nuvi 255 Models all features some very nice upgraded features:New faster processor, making for a faster routing and map drawing. New shaded elevation maps. Now... Read more

The Garmin Nuvi 255W has voice capability but cannot be commanded with voice. It has a huge number of POI (Points of Interest) built in and you can add up to 1000 additional ones. You can also set proximity alerts when you are approaching a POI. You also have speed limits and the current speed indicators on the screen. The 255W also has an emergency button on the menu, which receives your exact coordinates (latitude and longitude), displays the nearest address and... Read more

The key to a good GPS is the interface and the Garmin nüvi 255W’s is one of the best ones that I have dealt with in comparison to other GPS models. It is well designed unit from both the out casing to the software within. Garmin has been regarded as the leader in GPS technology and they continue the trend with the nüvi 255W. While it is sold as an entry level unit in terms of price, its features and function make it act like a more expensive GPS model. Routing works... Read more

Very satisfied with this unit. As this is the first GPS I've owned, I have nothing to compare it with, however it has worked perfectly for my family so far. My son just took a trip from CT to South Carolina and loved it. The only complaint I have is that the voice is a little bit tinny especially if the volume is turned up. For the price, you can't beat it. Comment Read more or see product

The Garmin Nuvi 255W is a great product. I've only had it a few weeks, but I've found it to be user friendly, reliable, easy to read and accurate. It calculates the best route and provides the estimated time of arrival. I visited stores and examined more sophisticated GPS versions (more bells and whistles), but this is more than adequate for all my needs. The only con I have is that the Quick Start Manual could be more user friendly (written GPS 101 or GPS for Dummies... Pretty easy to use. Good graphics and it tells you where to turn by street name. That is the best feature. It shows you far ahead where to turn and then says the street. Very easy to use. Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase ( What's this? ) this GPS is extremely user friendly and a bundle purchase gives a lot of flexibility. Anyway, should have come with an updated maps rather than with a free option to update! This 30 days free update opportunity could be easily overlooked... Comment Read more or see product
