Excerpt: This Garmin product is a Great Leap Forward from my old Garmin GPS.Used it on a trip to Newport Beach and home. Traffic was terrible going south and could not have made it without the new Garmin and traffic delay help.I would never consider living in the Los Angeles area, but the Garmin got us through and home from that terrible area.
Excerpt: Replace Magellen that went dead on a long trip. Garmin was easy to set up and learn. Has some very good features, Lane to be in, some photos of exits, 4 10th of a mile notification of school zones, Only issues; identifies "feet" to a turn but the feet must be to the end of the intersection, poor identification of direction when exiting a parking lot. The good features more tha make up for the not so good.
Excerpt: We really love using our Garmin. We have never had one before, so it has been a great help to us when we go on trips! We are hopefully going to New York this summer to visit our grandkids!! We are really looking forward to that! It is everything that we hoped that it would be!!
Excerpt: Because I drive to several different locations within a 100 mile radius on a daily basis, the ability to arrive on time is critical. This GPS has a large clear display, along with the voice prompts advising of exits, turns and approximate arrival time. The intuitive feature of providing alternate routes in the event of traffic congestion, accidents or hazards, has proved invaluable.
Summary: I was using a TomTom from 3 years ago. Excerpt: Used Garmin Nuvi 2557 LMT On long trip found out to be the best thing that we ever bought .It was great on the main highways with all the different lanes and colored markers when we were going around the belt way, with all the off ramps. Was great in Washington with all the different street name and one way streets, kept us from getting a ticket. also gave us directions to hotels, and dinning locations and the gas stations.
Excerpt: I like the level of information on the display. The critical data is displayed in large digits. The lane indicators are helpful. The lifetime maps update was a major part of my decision to buy this GPS. One of the drawbacks to this device is that is the lack of the "time remaining" indicator (this is minor). When in map only mode (i.e; not in route), two of the display boxes are mis- labeled.
