Summary: Less than 24 hours after opening, unit died. Will not turn on even when plugged in to power source. Before it died, I found setting it up very confusing, not very user friendly. Could not perform update of full us lower 49 states as memory not large enough. Several trial routes went miles out of the way and could not figure out how to customize the route. Overall, I was happy it died because I didn't want to keep it.
Summary: I purchased this with the intent of adding the maps for Europe and taking it on vacation. So I buy the maps and then the Garmin downloader informs me there isn't enough memory in the unit to add the maps and there is no system or interface that would help/guide me to remove anything to make room, so this unit is basically useless to me. So in addition to the money blown on this thing I also blew an extra $100 buying their maps of Europe.
Summary: Bought one of these units to replace an old Garmin that had worked great for years before eventually developing issues with the USB port. Since fixing it would essentially cost more or less the same amount as it would to get a new/improved GPS, I opted to buy a 2455LMT which is essentially the exact same unit as this, but with a 4.3" screen (as opposed to 5"). After a week, it became unresponsive and wouldn't turn on no matter what.
