Works well, but it may not have memory to allow downloading entire maps

Summary: I rented a car when I went to a wedding last year, and it came with a Garmin GPS. I'd never used one before, and was delighted to have it help me find my way around a strange town. When I got home I decided to get one for our daughter, who will be going away to college this coming fall. She's never driven much except for in our county, and her college is a couple of hours away.
Summary: Get it brand new. Then you have to log in to update and register, but to do that, you have to download some app into your computer which stays there. (Probably watching my stock purchases) then it takes a LONG time to update the "new" unit and it still try's to take me on a road that doesn't exist to get home. I bought new because the updates were so stupidly expensive, and it's still wrong.
Summary: I like the larger screen size and the split screen showing the lane to exit the highway. I do not like the application organization or the fact that I can no longer input an address and the zip code and come up with a route. Also, instead of searching in the immediate area I am physically in, it also searches adjoining states at the same time. This takes longer to get a route and sometimes plots a route in the wrong state.
Summary: I love this it has already taken me from ny to Cleveland and it is so accurate.. lifetime updates. my parents had a older one it was recalled sent it in, came back with a new battery and we downloaded the maps and it works great!
Summary: It may not be the current top of the Garmin line, but I love this GPS to no end. I don't know how I've gotten along without it for all these years. Has not failed me yet. Large, clear screen with accurate and audible voice directions. I love the simulated GPS when you are at home -- but I wish I could fast forward and/or reverse the avatar. Still playing with categories and entering new information -- I'll get back to you on that one.
Summary: The unit was easy to set up and start to use. I did take the time to update the maps before I started using the unit. I had read the reviews and knew that this could take several hours so I plugged the unit in to my computer before I went to bed and allowed it to update overnight. I'm not sure how long it actually took but by the next morning it had been updated and has been working fine. I have been taking the Garmin with me when I travel, most recently on a trip to LA.
Summary: I bought a Garmin several years ago and liked it. It stopped working saying acquiring satellite sometimes for the whole trip, so I needed to get a new one. We looked at some of the new ones and asked questions and felt this one would be the best one to meet our needs. We have only used it a couple of times and it was much more accurate in getting me to where I needed to go. I just had to learn the difference between the shortest route and the the fastest route.
