Summary: I bought my 250 just before we left on a month long trip through the southern US. It performed well. I loved the small size and portability. It was amazingly sensitive and able to pick up satellites even on the ground floor of a two story house. If you are in an off map location like a parking lot, be sure to drive a short distance so that the GPS can determine where you are before you make any turns. I ended up spending 5 minutes getting back on route.
Summary: Easy to use. Helps find our way when traveling. I love that it talks to you so you don't have to look at it while driving. Tells you before its time to turn. So you know ahead of time. Great price an well worth it.
Summary: I really like the gps. The only problem i've noticed is sometimes around my house the road will not show up on the screen if i'm on the view map screen. I do live quite a ways out in the boondocks tho so i wasnt too surprised.
Summary: Pretty easy to use, great display and color. It has trouble with pinpointing some addresses and doesn't always take the shortest or fastest route. If I had it to do over again, I'd pay a little more and get something better.
Summary: Previously I had a Garmin nuvi 250 which I purchased it from Amazon.com in 2009 and I loved it. Unfortunately, at end of 2010 my car got stolen and the GPS was stolen too. The Garmin Company discontinued nuvi 250, so I have been searching for it everywhere, but I can't find it. Recently, I checked on Amazon.com and I saw that they have nuvi 250W. I bought Garmin nuvi 250W and when I try to turn on the GPS it doesn't turn on so I thought maybe there is no charge.
Summary: I ordered the Garmin nuvi for traveling mostly, but instead, have used it extensively while house hunting. I can't imagine trying to search out the properties that I wanted to see without it! It is so easy to use, I simply put in the state and address that I want to find, and hit "go". The turn by turn guide is amazing, and has been accurate 100% of the time so far.
Summary: I purchased this product for my father along with a mount for his motorcycle. It seems to work great while its plugged in charging but as soon as you unplug it, it dies. The battery seems to be faulty and won't hold a charge. Pretty much defeats the purpose of having it on a motorcycle.
Summary: I've had good luck with Garmin units, just bought a 265T to replace a 275T stolen from the car. The problem with the 250W is that it should be an $80 unit in today's market, Amazon has a regular price of $200 on it. Why not buy a 255W, or 265W instead, probably adding traffic (255WT or 265WT). Much better deal currently.
Summary: nüvi Battery PCB RecallGarmin is voluntarily recalling certain nüvi devices that contain a specific battery that was manufactured by the battery supplier within a limited date code range. Garmin has identified potential overheating issues when certain batteries manufactured by the third-party battery supplier within a limited date code range are used in certain Garmin nüvi models with a specific printed circuit board (PCB) design.
