Great product...but for some reason it died early :(

Summary: I had been using this Garmin product for the last 8 months and had absolutely loved it! It was a dream to use - simply put - it was perfect. I had purchased the Italy/Greece sim card for it and it was performing fantastically (except for a few little glitches in the pronunciation of the roads...which was actually pretty humorous at times). I came back to the US and was using the GPS, and one night I was trying to navigate to a local spot, when the GPS just DIED!

Summary: [Amazon is pooling 2495 and 2455 reviews -- pay close attention -- this is for 2495LMT; 2455 doesn't have voice recognition or bluetooth] I've owned the Garmin nuvi 1690 for about two years now (as of 2/2013) and I really like it, but I'm afraid that my free traffic information will expire at any time (it's served up by AT&T towers and not lifetime), I'd like to have multi-point route editing, spoken road names and a newer set of maps.
Summary: I really love all of the features on this Garmin, but as a previous owner of a Garmin, I have a few little gripes with this model. I'd still buy it again, but that being said, if you are exceeding the speed limit, your current speed changes the color red, which at night, is muddy, and difficult to read. The other "flaw," I think, is the standard voice. It's "computer" sounding, has a flat affect, and is a lot worse than my older model (a four year old model).
Excellent GPS in MOST respects but a few annoyances

Summary: UPDTATED with a major Con after 7 months of use: I used a TomTOm for years and was reasonbly happy with it but its maps are hopelessly out of date so I decided to upgrade. Pros: *Menus are easier than TomTom *Screen is easy to read *Screen mount works VERY well. It is easy to attach (remember to wet it slightly). It clamps the suction cup on by throwing a lever which is more secure than the TomTom way of pressing it on the glass.
Summary: I got this to replace my stolen TomTom GO730. Much is subjective by the feature you prefer and how you like the interface. There are several things I like about it better than the GO730: 1-Acquired satellites much much faster. 2-Route recalcs much faster. 3-Voice command is much better and simpler to input an address. 4-Touch screen is a lot more accurate. 5-Traffic condition data for life. 6-Map updates for life. 7-Thinner & lighter than the GO730.
Summary: I've had this GPS for about a week and overall I'm happy. The display is nice and bright and easy to see in the sunlight. Using this device in portrait mode makes a lot of sense because you are typically more interested in what is in front of you rather than on the side of you. Information on the display is well thought out and very usable. The GPS is super simple to use with a very logical user interface, and the POI coverage is pretty good.
There is a learning curve - Worth it for LTMaps and LTTraffic
