Summary: Did not include complete users guide, only start up guide. Could have options I haven't been able to check out yet due to lack of instructions. Probably the norm now. Most companies expect you to print your own.
Pros: Very good voice prompts in city driving. Much better than comparable Tom Tom. About the same as Magellon.
Summary: this is a gift. i'm sure the donee is pleased with it. we have a garmin, which this person used recently, and he liked it. The above ratings are based on our experience with the product we currently own and use.
Summary: Newegg Support for everything, but this issue has been good. Won't let you return it so buyer beware.
Pros: Interface is horrible.
Cons: Does NOT work as described. I've had Garmin products for years, this is the first time the product doesn't work as detailed. The traffic component does not work without additional hardware, though the product makes no mention of it. FAIL.
Summary: Fire it up and actually aquire satellites before attempting to update the software or maps. When I first connected to the Garmin Dashboard web site, it kept telling me there was an update even though I had already installed it - using it outside for a couple of minutes resolved that. (At first use, there was a software update available but the maps were current).
Pros: This seems to be a high quality GPS unit that works great. It does everything I want it to do - I can program multiple locations such as airport, hotel, etc. before leaving on a trip, then just push a button or two to navigate to those locations. It's very responsive, quick, and simple to use after a quick read through the manual.
Cons: Just one very minor one - I wish the speaker button on the map screen would bring up the volume control, rather than just toggling mute on or off.
