Summary: This is my 3rd Garmin and my best so far. I owned the 200W nuvi, my 1st purchase which I liked a lot. When it died, my needs were still basic, so I purchased its successor, the 255W. I hated it from day one. It took forever to "acquire satellites" and sometimes couldn't even find its location! Didn't work well in bad weather. Gave turn directions too late, so that I was constantly turning around. I rarely used it. Maybe it was lemon?
Summary: I have had other garmin units, this one is very easy to use and has more features than previous units. The lane designation feature works well and the picture display of the upcoming interchanges is a nice add.
Summary: I used to use Magellan GPS devices. Now, I am a total convert. As soon as I turned it on, I noticed that it figures out the route much quicker than my old one did. I like the display and it has alot of POI's programmed in.
Summary: My old GPS had a major attitude (I muted her because she was a nag) and then the company wanted $80 to upgrade the maps. I found this one for a reasonable price, a lifetime of map upgrades and this one doesn't nag. What is really impressive is if I screw up (hey I'm old and things happen) it doesn't take forever for this GPS to get me back on track. Another thing I really love is that it gives me a lot of notice of which way I will be turning.
Summary: This is a great GPS. I wish I didn't have to go back to the main menu to raise and lower the volume. In my old Garmin there was a button on the side. When you are driving you don't want to have to look at the screen and mess with it or you will get distracted.
Summary: I have been using Garmin products for quite a few years and like them. This GPS as others that Garmin makes is very good with directions and the screen is just the right size. The only thing I would like to see changed is that we were able to choose a different voice. Most of the devices seem to use the same one and she does get annoying to listen to. Don't get lost and get the Nuvi 2360.
Summary: Maybe I'm just automatically astonished at anything new that is electronic. At my age that's not such a stretch. But even at my age this device is so intuitive, so easy to use, that I don't know that the novelty of it will ever wear off. I didn't realize when I ordered it that I could use voice commands with it AND use it as a Bluetooth device for hands-free calling. Naturally I tried that out right away and it worked like a champ.
