Summary: We spend a month in Italy, and this Garmin system did not work. We ended up renting a Tom Tom, which worked beautifully. Havent had the time to research into this problem. Could just be an individual flaw.
Summary: I never in a million years would have ordered this item had I known there were no US maps loaded. I believe it's misleading for Amazon to sell this item without disclosing this detail. Now I've paid for shipping and have to pay for return shipping? Not happy.
Summary: My wife and I used the Garmin GPS on a trip in The Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France this past August. Did quite a bit of driving, in both big cities and the countryside. The GPS performed flawlessly - hard to conceive how we could have managed without it. It did, on rare occasions, take us from point A to point B by somewhat strange routes, but this happened rarely, and we always got to where we wanted to go.
Summary: Wanted a GPS as we were going to travel in Italy. We were in Spain the year before and got lost a few times and had to pay for taxis to show us the way back to our hotel. This time we did criss cross Italy extensively and if it was not for this little device I would have been renting more than taxis. The directions were clear as well as all the on and off ramps. Through out I made one wrong turn and that was my fault. Definitely a gem if you are going to Europe!
Summary: This GPS is able to help us find our way around England. I did not give it 5 stars, because it is a bit slow in recalculating routes when I miss a turn or decide to take a slightly different route.
Summary: Excellent product and does everything you need from a SatNav. Lane assist function works well and there is photo realistic junction view, although this is only on selected major A road and Motorway junctions. The junction image shows up for about five seconds and then disappears. I can't find any way of changing the settings for this as it would be useful if the image stayed on the screen a little longer. The junction view is not in real time, it's just a fixed image.
much better than earlier version (apart from the voice)

Summary: my old western Europe Garmin (Nuvi 205), bought in Dec 2008, was very out of date mapwise, & also insisted on rebooting - very slowly - every time the car ignition had been switched off. This one does switch itself off 15 secs after the ignition goes off, but is back in action very swiftly when turned on again. OTOH my old one had a very inoffensive voice.
Summary: I wanted a reasonably priced, easy to use GPS and that's exactly what I got! I'm using it in Denmark and so far so good, the directions have been right on and the screen, though small is adequate. The only downside is that it sometimes takes me the "long way" but for places where I sort of know my way, I just stop listening to the nice lady for a bit and let her "recalculate.
Summary: I have been using one of these for a while so this is a long term review. The unit is very nice and a big improvement over older models. The touch screen is easy to use too. One problem I have is that you need a second unit by a different manufacturer as a backup. There have been several times I have programmed an address which I know to be correct and is available on one of the map websites, but the unit gives me a different address and asks if I want to go there.
