Garmin nuvi 205wt - been my life saver

Rosebudwi..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "LG KS 360 I must confess that up until about 2 years I would also go for top quality pay and go phone, my last phone had TV etc on it, which was new out at the time, but if I had have used half the services, I would have been living at Boots doing tops up, so when the lovely dog as a pup decided that the phone tasted better than his toys. So since then it's cheaper and more cheerful. I hadn't actually planned to get the LG phone, I was just ...

  • Excerpt: I bought this GPS for when I was travelling up north not meet family, I am glad I choose this particular one as it has so many features, it is easy to use, and it is from a reputable brand. I do not use the satellite navigation since purchasing my new smart phone as it has maps built in, so i have it with me all the time. Appearance- The Garmin Nuvi 205wt is a nice looking GPS, but looks a bit out dated since it is one of the older ones.

  • Excerpt: I decided to treat myself to this GPS device last year. I had bought my mother a Garmin sat nav for christmas a few years ago and was familiar with the brand. I was beginning to get sick of having to ask her to borrow the GPS everytime I wanted to go some where I was unsure of. I have only been driving for a few years and lack confidence when driving to places I dont know but with the sat nav on my windscreen I felt I was able to go wherever I wanted to go because there...

Sat nav for a bicycle?

trevorbro..., Ciao
6 October 2009
  • Excerpt: "...The Nuvi? Well I chose Garmin as the manufacturer because in my view their maps are better, and their technology reliable. I pondered a Garmin Edge 705 which is specifically designed for cyclists, and comes with cadence measurement and heart rate monitor. Sadly it also comes with a massive price tag - around the £320 mark. So I moved downscale a bit to some of the upper ends of the Garmin family intended for cars. Some have an inbuilt option ...
  • Pros: Effective, efficient and useful  -  reasonably priced .
  • Cons: No facility for an easy battery change of replacement .

  • Excerpt: I'd been looking at sat navs for some time (due to the amount of 3-point turn practice I'd been getting in) and I got this one as a Christmas present. So, 6 months on, here's my verdict: Display - It's clear with some good features. These include the bar at the top that displays your next instruction (and how far away it is) and the estimated arrival time.

  • Excerpt: This is my first satnav (except for the pretty useless app on the Nokia N95)so I have nothing to compare it with. All in all it does what I need it to do. It does take a up to minute to pick up the satellite when you turn it on but unless you are completely lost that is not a problem because you can head off in the right direction and it will catch up with you. The wide screen is easy to read and the graphics are clear.

At £120 this is a handy little gadget that will get you where you want to be.

  • Excerpt: The Garmin Nuvi 205WT Sat Nav is a definite improvement on my previous Sat Nav. Before purchasing I wondered why Sat Nav manufacturers were pushing wide screen models. Logically you would expect portrait orientation to be the obvious design. When travelling down a busy trunk road at 70mph your thoughts are about the next turn ahead that you have to make not how pretty the fields are to left and right. In practice I find the screen format quite pleasing.
