Summary: We just received this GPS. We ordered this specific GPS because it has maps of Mexico. HOWEVER . . . While a fine GPS that seems to function just as it should, and this GPS does indeed have what GPS maps for Mexico are available -- BUYER BEWARE! . . . Garmin's maps of Mexico are SPARSE.
Summary: The GPS sent me to a resturant, the Boathouse, in Lindenhurst, NY that closed down in April 2005; a library in Camp Hill, PA that closed down over 5 years ago and to a dead end street in Sleepy Hollow for something else!
Summary: I ordered the Garmin Nuvi 200 from Amazon and expected it would come with the new map software (City Navigation North America NT version 2008) as others had received, but unfortunately, mine came with the old map (version 8). I called Garmin support and they wanted $75 more for the updated map.
Summary: I received my Garmin Nuvi 200 (250) about 2 weeks ago and have found certain flaws in this GPS system. The first is that the old version map (V8)comes with the system and you need to pay another $75 to upgrade.
Summary: I had done a bunch of research and watched some video tutorials before buying a Garmin nuvi 200W and after using it for a month I have to say that it has met my expectations. I really like it. However... the unit I bought was refurbished and I wouldn't recommend buying a refurb.
Summary: Opened the box and found the vehicle suction cup was broken. I returned the unit as faulty (first time I have ever had to return anything) and was a little worried something would go wrong or charged twice etc. Well I'm happy to say it was totally hassle free, speedy and a seamless process.
Summary: :) -Gets you from A to B. -User friendly - bought it for techo-phobe dad and he managed to figure it out fine. -Clear maps. -Nice screen mount. -OK value for money. :( -If you go off route, it tries to get you back on the planned route rather than recalculating a new route from your new position.
Summary: I bought this Nuvi around 6 months ago. Initially I was very happy with the system but soon discovered it was very frustrating to use! I live in NI & had used the older versions of this device with no problems whatsoever.
Summary: Hmmm! Not the best purchase I've ever made! Being refurbished means that it's a right pain to update as it's been registered in someone else's name. I spent many hours on line & on the phone to Garmin with the intent of getting an updated map of UK & Northern Europe & speed camera sites.
Summary: The main problem with the Nuvi is that it doesn't pick up signal very well, it seems to take on average 5 mins to pick up a signal. I downloaded some software (and european maps) from the Garmin website and that caused me more problems.
