Summary: Let me preface this review by saying I owned the previous model and overall was happy with it. While there are some nice upgrades to the new model, it would be difficult to see how Garmin could have screwed up the software any worse.
Summary: This is an excellent mapping unit... if you have the patience to wait. There is a significant lag when searching for points of interest. When I first received the device, I installed the updated maps from my PC and 3 hours later the process was completed.
Summary: I ordered the item and received it in a timely manner. I was happy with it. Then I started testing it immediately. It confirmed the disapointing features someone listed out previously: the battery indicator won't show when you need it most.
Summary: While the product is good on its own, there are a couple of problems. It is discontinued and Garmin does not support the map availability on their site. I am limited to only the SE US area, but no place else.
Summary: We have been using this GPS for a year and are finally giving up on it. From the beginning, it has given us problems. It takes too long to figure out where it is located and has shown "acquiring satellites" for the entire ride to my destination.
Summary: Garmin Nuvi It starts up and gives directions for a few minutes and then cuts out completely. After a few seconds it starts all over again. By that time, of course I have missed some instructions and am lost again. It does this over and over again. It is clearly defective.
Summary: I have an old box Garmin that i had for years. I thought i would get this and the upgrades that have come along during the last few years including lifetime map and traffic. Unfortunately the buttons were not at all good and i would have to press 2-3 times to move the screen.
Summary: When I bought this, I had no idea what I was getting into. First of all, when I put it on my dashboard a very foul mouthed female voice stated, " I hope you don't think I am going to just sit here and F#$@# wait for you!
Summary: This was an "upgrade" from another Garmin model. The old one was, well, old. Maps were no longer accurate and Garmin wanted $90 to update them. So we got this new one with lifetime maps. We thought it would also be better than our old Nuvi 200, but we never imagined it would be worse!
Summary: This is our second Nuvi model. The unit is not as good as the older, less expensive model that I also have. This unit tends to "lock up", fails to pick up on traffic alerts and in general is a poor performer. If I had owned this unit first, I would not have purchased a second Garmin unit.
