  • Summary: I had owned many GPS units and find Garmin is tough and well made but lacks some finer features like better look up of spelled POA's and ease of lifetime map downloads e.g.

  • Summary: I like by Garmin, The voice is very smooth and the features help me get around easily. I really like the features that help me be more efficient in my driving and economical overall. This was a refurbished model and it came looking brand new and after updating the software, has performed flawlessly.

Discounted GPS with lots of freebies!! Well worth the money !!!

  • Summary: I bought this because I travel every so often and I am not good at directions. This is an awesome little gps unit. Only bad is updating the unit. Make sure you got a fast internet connection and lots of time to kill. Preferably 2-4 days. Yes..., Garmins servers are extremely slow when it comes to downloading to your GPS unit. Make sure you get all map updates, software updates, and don't do like me and expect the whole 48 continental US map to fit on it either.

OK for the price.

  • Summary: I bought 2 of these. I bought one for each of my cars and as a replacement for one older model. They are fairly easy to set up but loading map updates is a huge pain since both won't update from the Lifetime Updater - one has to be downloaded directly from Garmin's website (Garmin acknowledges this problem - big deal; it needs to be fixed). One unit freezes up from time to time (Garmin says they're working on this).

  • Summary: great display, cool features, very easy to use... I'd rate it 4/5 cos the GPS has directed me to wrong places few times and while searching POI's from any location, it misses out the nearest points or sometimes takes you to some wrong location...Its dependable, helpful but not perfect.. i am satisfied with this model and very happy cos it has lifetime map and traffic updates..after using this gps i would surely recommend this to anyone, great value for money.

Solid GPS with Lifetime Maps & Traffic--Worth a Dozen Lesser Units!

jollybeggar, Ebay

  • Summary: With so many GPS units on the market, it was difficult to choose. But the Garmin nuvi 1350LMT is a sophisticated receiver for the money. Quick to upload recent maps and easy for the beginning user, I appreciate Garmin's "Where Am I?" interface, which allows the user to branch out from wherever the unit is, finding services and avenues quickly and efficiently. My only beef with the unit is its tendency to freeze up when using the traffic feature.

I really like the unit, but I do dislike the pop-up ads.

  • Summary: I bought this receiver because of the free lifetime maps and travel. ( I already have/and sold/ 4 GPS due to their maps being outdated.) I'm hoping this to be my last one. ;) I'm not really happy with the on screen pop up ads, but to disable them, you will lose the free traffic updates. :(. I was not aware of that. Other than that, I really like the unit. HTH, Ron.

  • Summary: Comments about Garmin NUVI 1350: I probably use the Garmin more for local areas that I am unfamilar with. It is also great for finding the shortest route when I travel long distances. The speed limit indicator is very helpful when you enter the road and there is no speed limit sign. Wish that it had came with a case and home cord for charging. I have had a Garman NUVI 350 before but the 1350 is much better.
  • Pros: Acquires Satellites Quickly, Compact, Easy Menus, Easy To Read, Easy To Set Up, Large Screen, Reliable Performance, Screen size is excellent, Simple Controls, Speed Limit is great

No lane assist, works fine

  • Summary: I purchased this for the traffic capabilities, an upgrade from my nuvi 260W. I haven't tried that out yet but realize that the accuracy depends upon the local reports, not nuvi. The two are very similar. The software works slightly different but it's no problem to figure out. Living in Nova Scotia, Canada I've noticed that the directions to my house take me on a loop off the main road and back on it. Not good. Friends with a Tom Tom didn't have a problem.

Easy Navigator for a Novice

rm2muv, Amazon
17 August 2010
  • Summary: I'm just a country boy and usually hate to try to get around in a city. I've only had a few opportunities to use my Garmin 1350, but it seems to do the trick. I enjoy myself a lot more in heavy traffic now that I don't have to spend so much time and effort reading signs. I was a little worried that it would be hard to see, but it is very clear even for my older eyes.
