Summary: I like the unit as a navigator but I genuinely hate false advertising. This unit claims to have lifetime map updates, but it is impossible to do, because the unit's power preservation function turns the unit off before the updates can complete. So it is literally impossible to do. Save your money, don't pay for the map updates. Or, be prepared to waste 3 or 4 hours, as I did, trying to get this thing to update.
Summary: I have used Many Garmin systems. 205, 255, 255W, this one is horrible. Why do you buy a GPS? To get quick directions and reliable reception. This one loses reception while passing under a small two lane overbridge and also takes forever to calculate the distances and get directions. Perhaps mine is a defective unit? All the bells and whistles of nice touch screen and smooth design are good, but if this does not get you where you want to, what is the use.
Summary: My first Garmin 1350t would shut down after about 10 to 15 min of use. They sent me a referb and on my last cross country trip it shut down twice. Both at key times, once when I had to call my husband at 5:00 AM in order to get directions. I love how it works...when it works. I would never buy another Garmin due to reliability. I never know when or where it will just quit leaving me stranded in the middle of my trip not knowing which way to go.
Summary: Very disappointed as my unit broke after only two days. I installed all the latest software and latest maps - an easy enough process on my mac but today on its maiden voyage home the unit won't turn on properly. Just kept resetting displaying the logo for a brief second or two and then resets again.
Summary: I bought this unit thinking that it would be a nice upgrade from my 255w, but I was really disappointed. Reroute calculations are slower than the previous versions, and it continously freezes up when I received incoming calls, that is the weaker point from new Garmin software.
Summary: Purchased the DPS to replace an older version for a long trip. Was very pleased with the 1350t, as it had new features I liked and was reasonably priced and easy to use. About six hours out while cruisong down the interstate, it just went blank. No troubleshooting "tips" were able to bring it back to life.
Summary: I will leave my old review, but I should update it now that a few months have passed. If you read below, you'll see that my Garmin suddenly stopped working and had a variety of other small glitches. I called up customer support after writing this and they told me that they'd recently updated the software for the device and I should go online to download it.
Summary: The Garmin nuvi 1350t worked like a charm for a while. For the price it has many nice features when it works, like lane assist, eco-tour, easy to view screen, easy to hear, easy to adjust settings, easy to find, enter & navigate to destinations. In contrast, pronunciation's not great, loads maps & finds satellites slowly vs other units I've used, takes too much time to recalculate if route changed, distance to intersections off by 30-60 feet.
Summary: I'd say this is the worst GPS i own. I have a Tomtom One XL that works fine until the audio went out so i decide to buy a Garmin as most of my friends say it is good (maybe on specific model). So my friend and i went on a trip, me on my car and him on his own ride. He is using Garmin 255WT. His 255WT is correctly guiding him to the right location while mine keeps on telling me to exit..like WTF???
