Summary: This satnav is very good once it finds the satellites. being a traffic version, it avoids traffic jams really well and sometimes we have been taken round the houses to get somewhere only to find that had we gone the normal way, we would have been held up. So many times we doubted "her" but learned never to argue - she always knows what's best! But. It is often a problem waiting to find the satellites, sometimes having to switch off and on again and continually restart.
Summary: I have had one of these satnavs for the last couple of years and I am generally quite happy with it. This is my third Garmin satnav and my second Nuvi, so I must be satisfied. Generally it's pretty accurate, although it has been known to make mistakes and get lost. I have used the unit in the UK, Portugal, Spain (a lot) and Malta.

Summary: Very good - it does what it says, no problem. Great autonomy, lovely display, quick to find sats and recalculate. No problem at all in 5 countries in Western Europe. Only issue, for me, is the difficulty to browse the maps, especially when it is not connected to the sats. Apart from this, far better than my previous TomTom.
Summary: I've had this device for 6 months now, so feel able to give a fair review. I've used 2 other GPS systems prior to buying the 1340. The screen is a good size.. very bright when set to 100%.. and road directions clear. Voice direction plenty loud enough.. even in my old diesel motor. The routing sometimes sends you along smaller than ideal roads.. Fastest setting. On 2 occasions I've contacted Garmin and TeleAtlas, and had routing errors corrected..
Excerpt: I had never had a navigation system up until about 6 months ago instead relying on my own map reading skills or following a paper route planner. Neither of these were very good or safe. I must spent hours driving round places in the hope I would come across my destination and with petrol prices going up I decided to take the plunge and go and purchase this Garmin.
