Summary: This satnav is very good once it finds the satellites. being a traffic version, it avoids traffic jams really well and sometimes we have been taken round the houses to get somewhere only to find that had we gone the normal way, we would have been held up. So many times we doubted "her" but learned never to argue - she always knows what's best! But. It is often a problem waiting to find the satellites, sometimes having to switch off and on again and continually restart.

Summary: I had never had a navigation system up until about 6 months ago instead relying on my own map reading skills or following a paper route planner. Neither of these were very good or safe. I must spent hours driving round places in the hope I would come across my destination and with petrol prices going up I decided to take the plunge and go and purchase this Garmin.
Summary: Great route planning, free traffic via supplied lead. My Garmin Nuvi started to take forever to start up but once connected to my pc and an update actioned it's been faultless. Would have given this a 5* rating if the traffic was more accurate and it didn't slow down but then the traffic is free to access for life and has got me out of trouble on more than a few occasions.
Summary: I'm new to sat nav technology and bought the Nuvi 1340T for use with car and motorcycle. So far, I've only used it in the car and on the whole, I'm pretty impressed with the device. Registering and downloading the latest European maps was a long, slow process but straightforward. I'm finding the 1340T does the basic job of navigation very accurately and efficiently (it finds satellites very quickly) but I'm not 100% happy with the interface and menu system which aren't...
Summary: I hesitated for some time before buying this satnav because I'd seen some technical problems reported. Mine has been used only twice but, so far seems good. In my opinion, no relatively dumb automated system is ever as good as a navigator with a brain and a map but this satnav can certainly help solo drivers. This one sent me down two blind alleys before the one free maps update but roads change.
Summary: The Garmin worked like a breeze in 99% of the cases but there were some occassions where it gave me some heartburn! Good points: - Its traffic speed information is very useful. - My blackberry charger can charge it easily. Bad points: - The first time that I started it off it wouldnt detect the satellites for quite some time. I had almost given up on it at that stage. - It keeps on warning of 50mph cameras in 70mph zones! And does it with loud beeps!
Summary: I bought this unit about 4 months ago to replace an older Tomtom sat nav on the recommendation of a friend. The first time I used it was on a trip to Spain in June. All was well until the second day somewhere in southern France when - like another reviewer experienced - the unit switched itself off and would not re-boot....so we had to complete the journey by map. Upon reaching our destination, I plugged the unit in to the mains charger and it came back on again.
