Summary: I bought this unit for my mother who likes to travel. She is pleased with the way that it operates and found it easy to navigate with the voice turn-by-turn instructions. She also liked the ability to search for specific places/attractions along her route. Overall, I'd say this is a WIN!
Summary: I cannot really trust this. Sometimes, the Garmin Nuvi gets me to the right place and other times it is really off. I don't know if any other brand is any better. My friend has another which works the same.
Summary: After getting lost driving from Brussels to France, we stopped in a Carrefour (France's version of Wal-Mart) and bought this GPS for 130 Euros (about $190). We drove around 5 different European countries and were never lost again. It speaks the street names and has a relatively wide screen. Don't even consider driving in Europe w/o a GPS. . .The round-around-abouts (traffic circles) and constantly changing street names will drive you crazy.
Summary: This Garmin product works well when the maps are up to date. Unfortunately when shipped - the loaded map - although Garmins latest - was not current or even valid over the previous 12 months or more - content was clearly obsolete - road route changes were not recognised - resulting in the wrong woute being taken.
Summary: This satnav is very good once it finds the satellites. being a traffic version, it avoids traffic jams really well and sometimes we have been taken round the houses to get somewhere only to find that had we gone the normal way, we would have been held up. So many times we doubted "her" but learned never to argue - she always knows what's best! But. It is often a problem waiting to find the satellites, sometimes having to switch off and on again and continually restart.
Summary: From the day of purchase, has taken a long time to turn on properly (up to 15 minutes). This has been unsafe as the product not be operated while driving. Also, the screen has been freezing while I am driving. This product has overall been a disappointment and I am finding another sat nav I bought in 2004 (despite having no sound anymore) is much more superior as at least it is reliable.
Summary: Bought a cheaper item to protect my touch screen satnav, but soon replaced it with a SWIDO screen protector. The SWIDO is much thicker , looks better , doesn't show fingerprints , and is non-reflective . Much better for this type of device . I also fitted SWIDO to my touch screen digital camera . Excellent product .
