Summary: I've not fully tested this product yet, I'm at the part where I'm updating it to use the latest maps. The latest update required me to have a Micro SD card because the update was too big to fit onto the devices internal storage space.
Summary: At the outset, if you're looking for a nuLink device, Garmin's site shows a couple of newer devices which were not yet available at the time I bought the device. So if its the latest technology you want, it may be worth either checking or waiting.
Summary: This device has many more advanced features than the ancient Navman that it replaced and, once some of its complexities have been mastered, works pretty well in many respects. On the other hand, there are problems.
Summary: Updated as of 28th March 2011 3 stars, (originally 1), and that's because of faulty software in the 1695 that didn't allow me to link up with the Garmin web site for updates and downloads etc. Oh and a very slow technical support response from Garmin. Summary of review so far.
Summary: This is a great product but it is not compatible with an iPhone 4. Having spoken to Garmin i seems that it is quite happy with that and has no plans to update. My guess is that will lose them a lot of custom to TOM TOM.
Summary: Ich habe das Gerät schnell erhalten (typisch amazon!)und mit Neugier ausgepackt. Bedienungsanleitung war eindeutig und der Anschluss problemlos. Erste Navigationsversuche verliefen gut. Dann verstummte die Ansage. Nach ca. 15 Minuten funktionierte sie wieder ??? Seltsam!
