A waste of money on an obsolete device. No more, no less.
10 July 2013
Summary: I really wouldn't recommend buying one of these items as they are reaching ten years old and by software standards they are basic and stoneage. My attempts to upgrade were quite limited, some of the software once produced for these units is no longer available, plus, HP seems to have acquired the Palm software and pays no attention to "old" units such as the 3600 Garmin anymore. Spend a bit more and buy something current and updateable!
Summary: I bought this iQue 3600 as a replacement for one I have, that fell apart when trying to replace it's dead battery. As I had all the accessories for it and map data on my old one, I didn't want to spend more money on a new one. I thought I could use the old accessories and transfer all my information to the replacement. I was wrong, the map data on the old one could not be transfered to the replacement and Garmin no longer supports this product.
Summary: I have had a 3600 since they first came out years ago. They are very difficult to replace a battery, at least it is for me. Now you can buy the complete GPS for what it used to cost to replace the battery. The mapping is old but It still can get you around quite well and all of the features are great. I like it better than the newer ones, and I know because I do have a newer one. You can not beat it for the price that they go for.
Summary: This is a great pocketable GPS with route planning for walking, bicycling and automobiles. When I get to where I am going, it does a great job of being a PDA,and mini-kindle book reader, My main complaint is not with the device, but with Garmin. Garmin does not do a good job of supporting older devices with new maps.
Summary: This is my third one. One thing I might mention, Be sure the "brand new unit has not been registered already. The last "Brand New, Never been used" one I bought on ebay had "already been registered", and it was impossible to register it with Garmin. I guess Garmin customer service does not support this model any more any way, so it does not matter much as long as you do not want to upgrade maps.
Summary: I really want this to work.....Garmin says it's to old.....so am I.....Don't expect help from Garmin.....I have two other Garmins and they work great. If you know someone that knows how to get these to work....
Summary: received package today. Turn on Garmin IQ3600 GPS and it did not work. Called Garmin tech support and after several tries garmin said GPS unit reached end of life. I need to get in touch with seller diontensdeals and let that person know that GPS unit does not work.
Garmin iQue 3600 still the best integrated PDA/GPS unit
16 October 2010
Summary: The iQue 3600 integrates the GPS and PDA functions marvellously. I bought my first one the year it was released (2004) and have become completely dependent. I have tried a number of other solutions but keep coming back to the iQue 3600. I have purchased a couple extras so that if my original ever dies I'll be able to fire up another one and I'm good to go.
Summary: The Garmin iQue 3600 functions as both a PDA and a GPS and this combined function was the primary reason for selecting this unit back in 2004. There are functions to keep phone lists with addresses, hunting and fishing times, memos, documents, phases of the sun and moon, a date book and several others including a MP3 player capability and the ability to password protect your data.
