Update your firmware and don't buy if you have a 30 pin iPad/iPhone

Daniel, Amazon
  • Summary: Excellent device. However there is something that needs to be noted. When Apple updated the iPad to iOS 8.3 they broke most GPS drivers. Apparently they warned device makers back in 2012 that they were going to do this and no one paid attention.

  • Summary: If your like me and want several backups then this is the ticket even if you have built in GPS chip in your iPad. Was easy and quick to acquire satellites and works very well on bluetooth to both my mac air and iPad air.

there was a firmware upgrade and all the new units and upgraded old ones now have to be pressed a good 2 seconds to turn on

Simon Vega, Amazon
5 March 2015
  • Summary: Works perfectly with my Nexus 5. Before I bought the Garmin GLO, I was afraid because of those reviews saying it keeps getting turned on by itself... That was a thing of the past, there was a firmware upgrade and all the new units and upgraded old ones now have to be pressed a good 2 seconds to turn...

Recommend. Works well lasts a long time.

T. A. Hensley, Amazon
25 February 2015
  • Summary: Outstanding overlapping coverage worldwide, integrates well with the Jepp software on an iPad. Shares a connection with up to 4 devices via Bluetooth (i've used it with up to 3 devices). I also recommend the friction mount cover--it keeps the device from slipping and inadvertent actuation.

Fantastic, just what I was looking for

Doug H., Amazon
24 February 2015
  • Summary: This little receiver is so sweet! Better than any other GPS I have used before, and with the ability to overlay topo maps, road maps, basically any map you can find, really adds so much to its usefulness.

Simple, works very well

Tom "Tom", Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: Works well with Microsoft's Surface 2 and Jeppesen FD Pro. Acquires a position in 2 to 10 seconds and typically has 2 meter accuracy; even when behind a heated windshield at altitude and up to 600 knots. Very simple to use. Turn it on, then turn on Bluetooth on your device.

Easy to set up, works perfectly.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
16 December 2014
  • Summary: I love this device. On my first trip out I paired it with my wifi-only iPad Air 2's iHikeGPS app, which uses topo maps for visuals. Ignore the gripes about the power switch - this issue has been fixed and the switch works just as it should.

  • Summary: Unfortunately for me, this device is optimized for Apple devices, and I was unable to successfully configure it to work with my Samsung Galaxy phone running the Android OS even after a tech support phone consult.
