I'm a competitive runner that bought this for my wife ...

Summary: I'm a competitive runner that bought this for my wife a few years ago. The touchscreen is way too sensitive & it takes 10 minutes to get a GPS signal (we live an hour from Chicago). Not the easiest to get around the menus. We've steered clear of touch screen & Garmins ever since.
Supplier Performed but Replacement Part Was a Dud!

Summary: The replacement band is the second one that I have purchased for my Garmin 405 Forerunner watch. The first replacement band was purchased several years ago directly from Garmin and fit perfectly. Getting the pins to seat properly was fairly straight forward.
Summary: Installation can only be described as, 'fiddly'! This replacement strap eventually split in the same place as the original one that came with the watch. I now have the Velcro replacement strap and am happy with that.
Summary: The watch band was the right one but the tool to remove the band was the wrong one when I told the supplier they sent me another watchband with the same wrong tool. I guess I will go to a local jewelers now and see if I can get the watch band off.
Summary: I bought a year or so ago. It works fine until you sweat then it locks up due to sweat getting in the seam between the touch bezel and watch body. The functions and web site are nice. I would buy a garmin for that but don't buy this one unless your willing to put up with sweat malfunction.
Worked great for 6 months...then just totally died.

Summary: I bought the 405 for myself and a second one for my husband. We both absolutely loved the product and used them while running every week for about 6 months. They worked great, very accurate on GPS.
Summary: I've used previous versions of Garmin and found this updated version to be rather annoying. It is sleeker in design, but not as reliable. Perhaps it is the humid, ocean island climate here that didn't agree with the watch - it started to malfunction soon after purchased and refused to recharge.

Summary: After waiting many years to purchase a wrist band Garmin for running, I realized this Garmin is too bulky for a female who is small to medium boned. I also thought the Garmin was difficult to use. Will be returning it. Doesn't keep a charge well.
