  • Summary: This Garmin replaced an older Garmin that had an attached wrist strap that broke. Like that this band is replaceable. More convenient to use and has more options than the older model. Just received it Saturday for my birthday and used it Sunday to monitor a 5K race. Very happy with the new Garmin.

  • Summary: My brother cycles a lot and recommended this. Negatives Big Not sure I would trust in water Does not have an auto power down function. Positives You can set it up with your ANT USB / STRAVA / Garman connect, so just leave it near your computer for 30 seconds and it upload (no cords!

Best all around Garmin

onezagata, Ebay

  • Summary: Best kept secret in Garmin GPS enable computers. Have used the 500 and 705 for cycle training and racing. Wanted something for running in the off season. Works great for running but found it easily replaces the 500 on bike with 4 data screens including power for half the price. Easy to use and switch between running and cycling screens. Definitely get quick release mount for ease of use with multiple bikes and watch.

it holds its own and appears to be the best value for the money of almost all Garmin products

  • Summary: After significant research, this was a product I settled on as a runner and beginner triathlete. Although not Garmin's newest Tri watch, it holds its own and appears to be the best value for the money of almost all Garmin products. It is most definitely bigger than my usual Timex watch, but it's a computer on your wrist! The bulk isn't that bad, and it's priceless to have so much data handy while you're working out.

LOVE this watch

stephsm, Amazon
26 September 2014
  • Summary: LOVE this watch. I've owned the Forerunner 305 for about 8 years, and liked that one too; however, it's finally starting to show it's age and was becoming unpredictable, so I upgraded to the 310XT. Could not be happier. I'm not a swimmer, so that feature isn't as important to me, but I do run and bike so the multi-function capability was paramount. I am a slender woman, and have slim wrists. The watch is large on my wrist, but it doesn't hinder me.

  • Summary: Great watch, refurbished and looks and operates like brand new. I've done over 50 miles of training and have been more than happy with the watch. It even helps to push me to make my times better. Raw data is a great coach. Also the Garmin connect features on the internet are awesome. enter in your food and calorie intake to track it on graph, set your weight and your target weight and watch your progress. Loaded with features.
