Summary: I have had this watch for so long that I am going to hate when it bites the dust. There haven't been any problems with it ever. I haven't had to send it in for repair. It finds the satellite in less than a minute unless I go out of state, and even then it doesn't take more than three minutes. I have used this for over 20 marathons and the mileage is within a few tenths which I find remarkable.
Summary: Currently sold in an incredible price because of Garmin's marketing strategy. 3-4 years ago it was "the gadget" for some freaks like me. It really opened a new era for me in doing sports. The only downside or the product is that the battery cannot be replaced, with conventional methods. I have 2 FR305s with dead batteries, hoping to find someday, a way to replace them. My estimation about FR305's operation life is appx. 3.000 hrs. of training. Now I jumped to 910XT.
Summary: I love this watch I really do. This is my first and only GPS watch, so I can't compare it to anything, but I am so happy I bought it about a year and a half ago. It's really terrific. I don't do anything fancy on it. Normally, I just use it to display when I'm running, heart race, pace, distance traveled, and total time elapsed. I do like that for running settings it displays in minutes per mile, and for biking it's miles per hour.
Summary: I bought this for my wife about two years ago. She and I both use it quite frequently, and are very pleased. It does take a couple of minutes to get the lock on the satelites, but after it does- it stays locked on. The navigation through the menu systems takes a little bit of testing to learn, but isn't super complicated. The fact that you can race yourself makes training more fun. The screen is very clear.
Summary: I love my Garmin. I would recommend this to anyone who is either a beginner runner or to someone who has run for many years. If you are looking for a gift idea for that person who is hard to buy for and they are a runner, this is it! This is my 2nd Garmin Forerunner as I lost my first one while on a run. Not sure how that is possible but it did.... Once I gave up on finding it, I did not hesitate ordering another Garmin Forerunner. I didn't even research other products.
