Summary: Currently sold in an incredible price because of Garmin's marketing strategy. 3-4 years ago it was "the gadget" for some freaks like me. It really opened a new era for me in doing sports. The only downside or the product is that the battery cannot be replaced, with conventional methods. I have 2 FR305s with dead batteries, hoping to find someday, a way to replace them. My estimation about FR305's operation life is appx. 3.000 hrs. of training. Now I jumped to 910XT.
Summary: I love this watch I really do. This is my first and only GPS watch, so I can't compare it to anything, but I am so happy I bought it about a year and a half ago. It's really terrific. I don't do anything fancy on it. Normally, I just use it to display when I'm running, heart race, pace, distance traveled, and total time elapsed. I do like that for running settings it displays in minutes per mile, and for biking it's miles per hour.
Summary: The forerunner is a great training device. Wish the heart rate display was larger - hard to see when running. Otherwise excellent device and highly recommended for those that like to track workouts.
Summary: I bought this for my wife about two years ago. She and I both use it quite frequently, and are very pleased. It does take a couple of minutes to get the lock on the satelites, but after it does- it stays locked on. The navigation through the menu systems takes a little bit of testing to learn, but isn't super complicated. The fact that you can race yourself makes training more fun. The screen is very clear.
Summary: I love my Garmin. I would recommend this to anyone who is either a beginner runner or to someone who has run for many years. If you are looking for a gift idea for that person who is hard to buy for and they are a runner, this is it! This is my 2nd Garmin Forerunner as I lost my first one while on a run. Not sure how that is possible but it did.... Once I gave up on finding it, I did not hesitate ordering another Garmin Forerunner. I didn't even research other products.
Summary: I love my Garmin. I've used some Garmin forerunners in the past that take a while to load, but mine actually loads relatively fast and I haven't had any problems. This has been great to run with outside, but will be even better once I can really start running outside everyday and start training for some races.
Summary: The Garmin 305 is an excellent tool to facilitate training for novice and veteran runners. is very easy to use and the size of the screen helps to visualize your data. can view and track your workouts daily, weekly, monthly through the Garmin website and pueder use Google Earth to see your travels. The only drawback to this is that it has gps clock function and that my taste is a little big. Overall a very presiso gps and useful.
