Summary: You cannot replace the battery which goes bad in a couple years. After about 3 months the Forerunner 205 would not lock into the charging cradle. For awhile I got by with using the strap to keep it locked onto the charging cradle and charging.
Summary: The Forerunner 205 watch is my lifeline, whether I'm doing easy runs, long marathon training runs or speedwork. I love it so much, I bought a 2nd watch when I saw a good price on it around the holidays.
Photo of item is that of a Forerunner 205 - not the Foretrex 205

Summary: The features of this particular item number/seller are mis-represented as a Foretrex 205, but as you look at the item's photograph the word Forerunner is clearly visible. Garmin GPS FORETREX 205 Wrist Wearable Personal Navigator - 010-00361-00 THe two designs have very different purposes.
Summary: I have only had the forerunner for one month, but I have used it on every run and I love it. It has never dropped reception, even on my trail runs, and it has been awesome to know exactly how far I ran and what my pace was.
Summary: Bought the 205 for my husband who wants to know how far and how fast he runs. He loves it. Easy to use right out of the box (just have to charge for 10 hours first). I've got the 305 and it's awesome too. It has options for swimming and cycling too. Would definitely recommend the product.
Summary: I started out running with the Nike Plus fitness chip and my iPod but as I increased my distance I found that the mileage was off no matter how often I calibrated the chip so I invested in the Garmin 205. So why the 205 vs. 305 or 405.
