Battery eater. Batteries not cheap.

j52149, Ebay
9 January 2014
  • Summary: After having the Garmin for several weeks, and having used the GPS on several occasions. I have to say this computer is a AAA battery eater. I get two maybe three one and a half mile walks and I have to replace the batteries. And I am using the premium batteries. Other than that it is a nice computer.

Each time you go to use this unit, it gives you a number of features that will help if you run or jog. You will never get lost again, keeps you up to date on your location & how to get back to your starting point.

Ripped Off!!

Sylvaticus, Amazon
24 June 2010
  • Summary: When I placed the order for a used Garmin Forerunner 101 I expected to get that product even though it wasn't new. Imagine my surprise when that wasn't what I was sent. What I actually reveived was a Garmin Foretrex 101, which I have found is an obsolete item. So, here I am with basically a piece of junk and no recourse other than knowing that I'm out something over $95 for my trouble. So, I give warning to potential buyers of "used" merchandise.

Impressed and very happy

mistek007, Ebay

  • Summary: I bought this Garmin running GPS for my son-in-law. He reports to me that it works great, keeps track of his runs, and is very helpful and reliable. He seems very satisfied with it. It is a little bulky but has a velcro band that is easy to adjust. The price was right and it looked good. That is why I purchased this model.

MORE FUN ON THE RUN

PATRICK E "ADVENTURE SEEKER", Amazon
9 January 2010
  • Summary: I have owned a Forerunner for almost a year and have loved it from the first run. I am so enthusiastic about the Forerunner, that I gave both my running adult children (21 y/o daughter, 30 y/o son) one for Christmas this year, and they both love it, as both have used mine during the past year. It is easy to use, and the face is just the right size so that the numbers are easy to read.

Garmin 101

Beth H. Dwyer "bdwyer33", Amazon
30 October 2009
  • Summary: Disappointed with the unit. It has great capabilities and the price was right, but the pace function does not work dependably, and the battery life does not appear to be the 14 hours advertised. I needed a battery operated unit so that I could use the Garmin while hiking peaks from a backpack/backcountry situation, therefore being able to replace batts and use it every day, and during the pack, to track elevation and distance, etc.
