  • Summary: Great little GPS has most all the features of my larger one in my car. But this one is pocket size and I carry it with me daily on my GeoCashe hikes. love it and it hasn't let me down yet.

WOW

  • Summary: Not going to lie when I first got this thing I thought I had made a mistake and you might think so as well. The instructions that come with it are not very helpful and there are not any maps preloaded on the device. However if you are a hiker and/or backpacker I urge you to give it a fair shot. Although granted there is a slight learning curve, once you figure it out it is AWESOME. Just tested this thing out EXHAUSTIVELY on a 2 week road trip up the eastern U.S.

  • Summary: The eTrex 20 works great for my purposes. Using google and bing maps, I manually entered the way points on the river for where we planned to camp and other landmarks. The proximity alarm worked as advertised and we never missed the sandbar where we planned to camp. The unit has a very basic map installed, but when traveling downstream on a river, the compass is useless, getting lost is just about impossible.

Motorcycle Trip with an etrex 20.

Majormom, Amazon
2 July 2014
  • Summary: The card was purchased for my etrex 20. I used it for a 14 day and 4,500 mile motorcycle trip with my son to the West Coast. We covered 7 states and 6 National Parks. I was able to navigate the Napa Valley, CA area to Bodega Bay, CA at night. For the money, it was well worth the purchase price. Sometimes when I made a wrong turn, the Etrex 20 would lock up while recalculating and I had to remove the battery to reset the unit.

  • Summary: For anybody seeking a GPS to be used in various situations, this is the one. Easy to understand the menu system and step through the options. Thumb toggle is a little sensitive but with little practice it's not that bad. Love it and won't be looking for another anytime soon.
