Summary: I gave this one star because choosing zero was not an option. This unit is extremely slow to begin with, but when you are in the mountains, or any type of tree cover (and possibly clouds)... forget it. You would be better off with Ray Charles leading the way.
Summary: This is my opinion of the Etrex GPS. I recently went backpacking in the Big South Fork national recreation area. I set a way point at my car and headed out. I received the weak signal prompt 90% of my hike.
Excerpt: Sometimes, one certainly benefits from spending a bit more money on a product, going for the more expensive model of a product... This Garmin e Trex was purchased for only 70 pounds, and all though the cost is reason enough to be pleased, the quality of this Garmin product fails miserably in...
Unless a very experienced navigator already, the limitations outweigh the price-saving benefits

Excerpt: This is the most basic, entry-level Garmin handheld GPS device, which Amazon currently sells for £66. However, if you are thinking of buying one, the unit has some extremely serious limitations which may well wish that you had saved the money and bought a more up-to-date model: do not be misled into...
Summary: This is my first GPS product and I hate it. It has lots of features that I don't need. The three features that I do need; reliability, good battery life and clear mapping, it singularly fails to deliver. (Granted the last is partly down to the OS).
Summary: I can't agree with the other reviews - I think this GPS is very disappointing. The problem is it's ability to receive signals, the slightest obstruction and it loses signal. I've not found this with other GPS's which I've borrowed. It's great on the top of a hill, but elsewhere it's frankly useless.
Summary: For hikers and fishers and hot air baloonists, this little unit may do the job at a reasonable price. For runners who are interested in recording time and distance in unfamiliar territory, this little unit yanks my big unit.
Conclusion: Hasta ahora total falta de confiabilidad, no tengo motivos para recomendàrselo a nadie . .
