Very Nice Unit

A. Nader, Amazon
13 June 2006
  • Summary: I was very pleased with my purchase of this unit. The display is very bright and clear. With the additional purchase of the Auto Navigation Kit, it became a perfect road trip companion. The size and portability makes this perfect for personal training.

Start up and walk (drive) away)

Peter Becker, Amazon
12 June 2006
  • Summary: I liked the unit from the first time picked it up. It is MUCH faster in start up and lower in power draw (longer battery life) than the last two units I have used (one of them an older Garmin product!).

Does the trick

Fred Mchugh, Amazon
6 June 2006
  • Summary: I wanted a GPS to use for hiking in New England. mainly for off trail navigation. This does an excellent job, but not to replace map and compass! It also got me into Geocacheing, which i enjoy doing with my 3 year old daughter. She likes to look for "treasure".

Has everything a hamradio enthusiast would want...

David Fifield, Amazon
2 June 2006
  • Summary: A lot of high-end GPS units cannot output your position in Maidenhead format (known as QRA locator, or grid locator to hams - for example, my home locator QRA grid is CM97ag). A prime example of this is Garmin's own Street Pilot III, which I also own - it can't report your position in Maidenhead...

Awsome

Henrique Machado, Amazon
1 June 2006
  • Summary: This little item is awsome. I take it everywhere. It has been through rain, mud, saltwater, fishblood, sand etc, and it is still as good a new. Make sure you wipe of any of these substances after each use.

Know what you want to use it for.

Outdoor, Amazon
22 May 2006
  • Summary: Over all, the Garmin Vista C isn't a bad little GPS. Its color screen is a pleasant addition to the Garmin family and its small size and shape is handy for the sportsman. The Garmin eTrex carry case is a must addition to purchase along with your Vista C to protect screen scratches and to help keep...

Perfection*****

D. Jenkins, Amazon
21 May 2006
  • Summary: I've used a GPS 72, Legend, Vista and now the Vista C. This is by far the best unit I've used. I love the color screen more than I thought I would and the USB cable transfers data very quickly if you want to load maps or a lot of waypoints.

Very Good GPS

Ron, Amazon
21 May 2006
  • Summary: This is our third Garmin GPS, the first being the Legend, and the second a C330 for the car. We have an old version of Metroguide USA v5 and downloaded applicable areas of interest and what a neat difference it makes using the look up feature and the basic auto routing capability to find what you're...

The Garmin 60cs is a better deal for the $

Larns, Amazon
21 May 2006
  • Summary: I've owned many handheld GPS units, and the Garmin eTrex series is one of my favorites. The Garmin units are small and fairly easy to use. But the Vista C doesn't compare to the similarly priced Garmin 60cs. The VistaC has a nice color display, and is a nice size for my hands.

Great Upgrade

KASAPearson, Amazon
18 May 2006
  • Summary: I upgraded from the Etrex Vista, so this review is primarily observations between the two. For a durable handheld to be used hiking, biking, canoeing, the Etrex series is great. I had a Vista, until capsizing my canoe at an inopportune moment while my Vista was unsecured.
