Summary: Simple user friendly device. Won't be confused with high end device, but most don't need those features. Need to navigate to a point? Need to be able to get back to camp? Need intuitive operation? This device might be the one for you.
Summary: Got this as a replacement for an older Garmin GEKO (which died last year). Greatly appreciate that they upgraded the things which needed upgrading - better battery life (now uses 2 - AA instead of those useless AAA), better sensitivity, and better screen.
Summary: I purchased this gps last summer to help me with hikes in Colorado. The unit itself has been very good. Easy to read in bright sunlight, long battery life, and so forth. You can relive your hikes on your computer or plot a hike if you have waypoints from some source or create them on the computer.
Summary: I have only owned two GPS receivers prior to this one. A Garmin Etrex and a Garmin Venture. This one is better than both. I like the easy to read screen and the detail it gives. You will have to upload map sets from the Garmin software for the area you will be in.
