Summary: Overall, I am very impressed with this GPS. It has the removable microsd so you can put in map files of varying types and sizes. I used this hunting and I suddenly became very confident in areas I don't know at all. It worked great and track mode helps going and getting back. If you want to feel safe hiking or hunting, use a unit like this or a better one from Garmin. I will list the drawbacks, but honestly I cannot say enough good about this GPS.
Summary: Too bad it's not made any more, but it's successor is no slouch, I bet. I paid $118 and I'm very happy. Does Geo-caching, is extremely accurate (5-10'), has great battery life, can double as a GPS for a car on trips, has a slot for a memory module for maps, and so forth. The only problems I have with it is that it's a little slow to find satellites and to find a route, but for the price, it can't be beat.
Summary: This is small but surprisingly heavy for the size. I mean it isn't overwhelming, but just solid. Mfr date is 2005/2006, I think. You want this version or one with a microsd, that is great to load maps. You can get 2 free interface software from Garmin. I will use this for hunting and hiking and I am very confident with it now. Only downside is satellites can rarely get found inside a building. Outside sat aquisition time is about 1-2min.
Summary: This Item is great for camping, Great on my bike and also caching. IT also can be unlocked with more mapping water maps, over the road maps, and also TOPO maps because of it's expandable memory with S.D. micro cards the posibilitys are almost endless. The only thing that would make it better is, if it talked not just beeped at turns and your destination.
