Summary: The Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Receiver is a nice little unit. I haven't gotten to work with too much because of the cold and snow but sunny days are ahead. I bought it for my wifes get home bag with stops entered along the way. I also have two Garmin 76 units which are bigger and a little easer to use in my opinion.
Summary: The eTrex 10 has the same GPS receiver as the costly 20 and 30, without maps. If you can read the B&W screen, the 10 is perfect. Its reliable, tough, and waterproof. Lithium AAs, 60+ hrs and not exhaust the batteries, GPS+WAAS+GLONASS on. With NiMH rechargeables, 33 hrs, 41 hours with GPS ON only. B&W screen is great in bright sun, backlit OK in darkness, color versions hard to see in sunlight but best when backlit. You can rearrange menus to suit for fastest use.
Pros: Accurate, Drop Resistant, Easy Firmware Upgrade, Easy Pc Connections, Intuitive Menu, Monochrome Screen, Quick Navigation, Quick Signal, Reliable Reception, Simple Controls, Very Long Battery Life, Waterproof
Cons: Joystick, Monochrome Screen, No Lanyard, No Map, Poor Manual
Durable, light weight, and very accurate in heavy cover/timber.

Summary: This is the best GPS to start geocaching with. Simple to use and very accurate. If you need to upgrade later then do so and keep this GPS as a backup. I have found no reason to do so. I love this GPS!!!
Summary: I purchased this product for the sole purposes of hiking and geocaching. The OS and the format for operation are both very user friendly and a make this a great item for people to acquaint themselves with before taking up more complex techs. Way to go Garmin!
Simple, comfortable, easy to operate, and most importantly accurate

Summary: Hello everyone. I know that Almost everyone here in my country use this device in kayaks And is highly recommended. That GARMIN Is the cheapest device, and more convenient to use. I highly recommend this device.
Summary: Etrex GPS is just what I needed to get back to car at the end of a long day playing in the woods. Didn't need all the latest gizmos on unit and since I've used two of these GPS units while working as a wildlife biologist I knew how to use it before purchasing it. Unit works fine, as expected, and gets me back home before the bears wake up. I'm a happy camper.
Summary: I bought this simple GPS so I could find my way to elk camp or stand in the dark and it served me well. I was able to go off through dark timber and find way back. I didn't run out of batteries on the trip- can't say about battery life. Compass/ direction of travel jumped around some under heavy cover- I found it easiest to just watch the "distance to waypoint and see if I was gaining.
Summary: Purchased the eTrex H for indicating speed and distance while working out in my kayak. Being waterproof was of prime concern. The eTrex is easy to use and worked great right out of the box. Links up to satellites quickly and operates flawlessly under a variety of weather and lighting conditions. Shopped around and found Amazon to offer the best price.
Summary: Top rated product best value for the money. Many other GPS systems cost $150-250 and may have more features but they are so complex it's not fun to use the darn things. I would recommend the Garmin E-Trex model H to anyone who want a simple but functional GPS at less than $80.00 new and $50-60 used on ebay. I have never seen anything written negative about this device. Pat in AZ.
