Device will not last long-term and support to correct isn't either

Summary: Bought Edge 705 back in December of 2010. Great product initially, fun to use, a lot of data, great. I bought this device knowing there were (are) a lot of reviews that indicate the same fait my edge 705 experienced about two weeks ago.
Summary: I upgrade from a 305 and WAS very pleased initially. Worked fine for about 18 months, then could not connect to satellites. I did some research and discovered this to be a very common issue. So, I called Garmin with the hope that they would make things right.
Summary: The hardware itself is fine, but the quality of the provided maps is poor (unless you're just cycling on main roads). The software is abysmal and appears to have been designed to cause irritation and frustration.
Summary: The mapping software is awfull, the routing between waypoints and tracks doesn't make sense. There is lag on the GPS, so will have passed turnings before you are notified. System doesn't seem to understand that you might want to ride offroad, even once you have set it in the options.
