What! No panning?

ian, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: I was surprised to see a major GPS brand company like Garmin leave out a feature as elementary as the ability to pan while in navigation mode. For example, you are driving to your destination however, you would like to look ahead to see if there might be any sharp turn or other alternatives.

Commercial Vehicle

Anonymous, Crutchfield
17 February 2013
  • Summary: The map update was not ready to update when i purchased it. I talked to two techs to set up GPS to lead me TO the tunnels but not the Belt Parkway and ALL other parkways in NYC in a commercial vehicle. I wish there was a setting to say commercial vehicle. Besides all that, the big screen is a plus. The alerts of a camera at the intersection and the arrows of which lane to be in is really cool.
  • Pros: Lots of extra features for Truckers.
  • Cons: No real setting for commercial vehicles. Updating when exiting is alittle slow.

Trucker GPS will they ever improve?

Kurt Pedersen "zierro", Amazon
12 February 2013
  • Summary: I purchase any trucker GPS to keep from running into low bridges, turning onto banned routes, and to get from A to B as effiecently as possible. Does this one do the job? Not enough to trust it. My biggest gripe is that it does not route A to B as well as it should. It's almost as if it's not sure if a Big Truck can run the route or not, so it sends you on a detour to be safe.

Close but only a couple puffs off the cigar

kenny belcher, Amazon
21 November 2012
  • Summary: The functions of this GPS is All and all pretty good. The things I don't like about it is That my truck is governed at 62 mph this GPS will Calculate arrival time at posted speed limit which in my case I can't reach so Hence creates a faulty arrival time For me. And there's a few minor things like having to keep resetting certain preferences that are annoying sometimes but minor issues.

Could be better

KingLuis71, Crutchfield
18 July 2012
  • Summary: Packed with features but doesn't have mile marker feature and often takes you down streets a big rig has no business being on. Some maps aren't accurate and neither is some truck stop or scale points. Works fairly well but not sure it was worth twice as much as a regular Garmin.

Nice GPS but the technology is still lacking.

greenman "sean", Amazon
28 November 2011
  • Summary: I mostely like this unit. I wish I would have bought it last year. Pros- It is very helpfull for truckers when looking for a place to park like a truck stop or rest area. It has a trucking icon with both of them on there. It warns of weigh stations, curves, and hills. It is plenty loud and easy to see. It also shows grade % which is kind of cool. Cons- As long as you stay on the highway it can direct you to places where big trucks can go.

Smokie901, Walmart
30 July 2011
  • Summary: The Good: 1 Screen size, colors, view, and volume which is very loud, I can finally hear a GPS Navigation unit over the sound of my tractor trailer on the Highway with having the windows rolled down. 2 Warning prompts work well in truck settings, MPH, Curve, Low over pass, weight limit roads, detour, etc. 3 Very large key touch screen key board for typing in your destination. 4 Very quick navigation, and reroute time.

Dezl 560LMT

Brown-Eyed Girl, Amazon
25 June 2011
  • Summary: This unit is better than most but still has some shortcomings. If you are on a route and want to switch modes to car for instance the route will not recalculate. It will show car but you will be on the truck route. You have to end the route, switch modes and then recalculate a route. I have found RV routing at times will send you many miles out for your way and you cannot over ride the route.
