  • Summary: I bought this as a back up for my Garmin map 62S and it has performed very well. As a rule the two are in proximity to each other when used for geocaching. Its size and weight make it ideal for what I intend to use it for.

  • Summary: I really like this unit but didn't give it 5 stars because when navigating to a waypoint the GPS compass often jumps around erratically. I understand that the unit needs to get its bearings and that the satellite reception is going to be in and out while navigating through the woods but I have had...

  • Summary: I use my Dakota 10 to mark my deer stands. I always know where they are but having so many out in the woods some are hard to find in the dark. The Dakota 10 will take me right to the tree. I think the battery life is a little short, and I don't believe I get the 20 hours they say you should get.

19 November 2010
  • Summary: Liked this GPS unit very much, only function it lacked ( that I wanted ) was an electronic compass. After a few days use I returned it and bought the Dakota 20 with the electronic compass. Only reature I would add to the Garmin products would be a rechargable battery.
