Summary: What ever I do, all I get on the display is 'Route calculation error: maps do not have routable roads in this area' Either I'm missing something or this GPS is a piece of cr*p. Also, this item came already loaded with around 8 maps but if I disable all of them except the worldwide base map there...
Summary: It does more than I expected it would! It's not only very accurate - right up to the known accuracy limitations of the GPS system itself - but picks up the satellites very quickly after switch on. But it's the extra abilities that impress me.
Summary: Bought solely for the purpose of geocaching; we now wouldn't be without this. It's a great piece of equipment for the price. I immediately updated the maps on talkytoaster as advised by other reviewers (very straight forward, "if I can do it...
Summary: Works fine bought it to replace our etex h downloaded the open maps as per an earlier review. Got the bike mount for it which could be better but does the job as long as you don't try to adjust the angle of it while riding with the gps inserted when I did this the gps came flying off at about 20mph...
Summary: A mate of mine bought a Garmin Edge 800 - lovely bit of kit if you can afford it. I wanted a GPS that was able to track a route and also allow you to send a route to it. I'd been mulling over and over the Edge 800 but it was just too expensive.
Summary: have been using this gps for a few months now, and have never had any problems with it, I use it mainly for geocaching but its great in lots of other ways, basically it does what it says, only down side is the maps are not much use.
Summary: I bought a Dakota 1o at the end of July after finding geocaching and quickly becoming hooked. Had done my homework and was happy with my purchase and the prospect of paperless caching. All well for the first 3 weeks while the unit worked I really couldnt fault it.
Summary: Great little gadget! I use it for geocaching and can now do it paperless which is excellent. Its accuracy is good and even the kids are willing to use it.Just a few things I've not got to grips with yet and that is the downside of items nowadays manuals are on discs not on paper!
