Summary: Both of my chirp transmitters arrived on time and in great condition. To program the Chirp with a waypoint I ended up having to delete all of my existing Waypoints and Geocaches on my MAP64S before the GPS would give me the option to send the waypoint to the chirp. It took me a bit to figure this...
Summary: Not much to say. Sends out a signal that my GPS picks up. Easy enough to program. I have it stuck to the back of my review mirror announcing that my car is a travel bug. (Put a TB sticker on it a few months ago and nobody has logged it yet so I though I would try the Chirp to advertise it.
Summary: The chirp works as advertised, except that under typical conditions its range is shorter that specified. The "chirp" sound would be more effective, if the Garmin GPS devices had a louder audio alert beep.
Summary: We are finding these add a new and exciting element to the world of geocaching and intend to buy several more. So far, we are very pleased and are really having a lot of fun figuring out how we can add them to more and more geocaches.
Summary: I got one of these to play around with when it was first available. It's an interesting little device. It won't change the game of geocaching radically, but it does add to it. The main thing holding it back will be the cost. It is a little transmitter, good for up to 30 feet or so.
Summary: With a software update (currently up to version 3.60), you can receive chirp info on the Colorado, but unable to write to them or "own" a chirp. Only one GPSr can own a chirp, so if you buy a new one, you will have to use something other than a Colorado to create info on the chirp.
Summary: Ich hätte es mir etwas größer vorgestellt.
