Takes the mystery out of my situation when there are no markers available.

Summary: Fine so far. It took me awhile to figure out a battery strategy. I finally bought rechargeable batteries with charger. Now I charge the batteries after every round(18 holes). It is my friend on the golf course even though I cannot hit my shots to precise distance( I am a 20+ handicapper). It is nice to know how far I should be hitting the ball.
Excerpt: Purchased this GPS for the sake of correct yardage. My main course has inconsistant yardage stakes. This GPS is more accurate. When playing in a shot gun start you do have to back arrow back to the 1st hole once you reach the 18 hole and have to finish the round. The GPS doesn't recognize that you have unfinished holes while having started on the 6th and after getting to 18 and have to finish 1 thru 5. Just a minor problem but I like the unit.
Very good design, rugged, easy to use, and provides a lot of information

Summary: Very nice and handy device. Seems accurate and is built rugged. Garmin reccomends using NIMH rechargable batteries and I have found that I have no problem with battery life using them. Display quality is good with color and the zoom feature is great especially on approaches to the green since you can move the flagstick around.Touchscreen is adequately sensitive but wish it had buttons for some functions because icons are small on screen.Plenty of info on hazards and...
Excerpt: bought this on a whim - it has been great. Works well and seems to be quite accurate. I thought at first the screen may be too small for my old eyes, but I could see everything. At first, it kept turning itself off after about 2-3 minutes, but after about the third hole it stayed on without any problem. I'm happy with this buy.
Excerpt: I love this GPS! It has all of the features that I need in one compact device. Since I received my Garmin G3, it has enabled me to better select the proper club, rather than estimating the distance; I have done away with the paper score card; and I'm truly impressed with the course selection.
Excerpt: the numbers are accurate and the features help on par 5 lay ups. the numbers are small and hard to see for an old guy. other models i have used make the yardage number big and easier to see. like that you don't have to subscribe to any service for this unit.
Excerpt: Easy to use with all the features you want. Color display easy to read. I used this on 6-8 courses over the last month and it was accurate and had them all preloaded. The only down side is that the battery life is pretty short. I suppose if I used lithium batteries it might be better than the Duracells but I carry extras for this sort of thing.
