Excerpt: I did not realize that you could not charge the GPS. I can only get one day out of the batteries. I am now going to try lithium batteries that are rechargeable, but overall I do not like the issue with this GPS. I would not purchase another one, and would not recommend it to anyone.
Excerpt: I enjoyed having something that could tell me distance to the hazards and green, but for $160.00 I feel the unit should have more features available, like being able to view the scorecard at the end of your game. Instead, You have to page through each hole individually.
Excerpt: This GPS measures distance well, but I was very disappointed to find that it does not have a recharge system and only runs on batteries. The batteries that the GPS recommends are pretty expensive. This item would be much better if it could be made to have a rechargeable system.
Summary: It worked well for about a season and a half, then the battery would not take charge anymore. Got a new battery and same problem. The downloads take quite a whlie. Support does not exist as no reply to my emails for a fix for problem. Going to try a different manufacturer next year.
Summary: Fitted to golf trolley nicely although the GPS unit was a very tight fit. Unfortunately the item only lasted 4 rounds of golf before the mounting cracked and was unable to use as GPS unit would have fallen off!!!!!!!
Summary: I was initially impressed with the G3, but then realised that the course map data for my club was significantly out of date/wrong. I downloaded the latest updates available, which did not help. I then completed an error report and contacted Garmin, who told me that updates were provided every 3 months and they could not say when my course data would be corrected.
