Summary: Well, I guess I must be harder to please than most of you folks. I think this is a piece of junk. Tiny, hard to read, hard to see in bright sun screen. Unless you have very small fingers the touch screen is hard to use because of small size. Battery life is poor.
Summary: I got taken. None of the 5 courses within 50 miles that I typically play are supported nor are there plans to ever include them. Chose a different GPS. All of the other GPS units I am now looking at, support the courses that I typically play.
Excerpt: Maybe I had a lemon. Problems from the first try. Hooked it up to the computer and added updates hoping this would remedy the service issues. Picked a nice course and was exited to give it another go. Wrong! Unit found the course but had every hole listed as par 3's.
Summary: after careful research I purchased the G3 and the Pacific Asia map add on as I live in Asia. The extra map software will not download (although paid for) and despite numerous polite detailed requests to Garmin for help - nothing. They also ignored my request to exchange the unit.
Summary: This was bought in July as a gift for my husband, given to him a month after purchasing, as the seller info said it could take 7 to 14 days to despatch. Gave it my husband on 24 August and it doesn't work! And I can't return it as it's outside the 30 day return policy. RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICE,!
Summary: Very dissapointed, the part that slides into the body of the Garmin G3 broke within 2 weeks of purchase. Could not confirm what the fault was so I did not return it. I was lucky I had purchased one before that had a snapped tightning band which meant I had a replacement available.
Summary: The casing of the ball joint which is attached to the G3 holder fragmented after initial adjustment but rather than going to the hassle of returning it I have superglued it in a locked position. If the supplier wants to replace it he can do so.
