Light years ahead of all others, but useless without available upgrades
6 April 2012
Summary: I love the unit. The one I have is one of the first 300s available. Being a professional truck driver, I wouldn't be without a GPS. Although the 300 wasn't intended for trucks, it has bailed me out of many 'what now' situations. Down side, and a BIG one, that effectively black flags the entire product. The unit I have is NOT software or map upgradable without a factory SD card and it's NO LONGER AVAILABLE OR SUPPORTED.
Summary: I had the NAV300 for a little over a year and it no longer can find the satellite. BROKE!! Tried everything to get it to work according to the Delphi's useless website but to no avail. When it did work it took FOR EVER to go through the menus. This GPS is no better than a door stop.
Summary: I bought it because I needed a GPS so when I go out of town (bigger cities). I should have done my homework on this item. This GPS is nothing but JUNK!! To all buyers out there, avoid this one!
Pros: Bluetooth, Highway Speed, Current Speed, Speed warning, Elevation, millions of POI, Day/Night backlight, text-to-speech, hands-free calling, multi-media (MP3, Video, Picure viewer,) etc., etc. A WHOLE BUNDLE OF FEATURES....
Cons: Non of the above features works or works well.
Summary: I would not recommend this product unless you want to be frustrated. The DVD instructions did not work in any DVD player I had. Then I discovered I must use a pen stylus for inputting addresses but there was no place on the unit to store the stylus. I guess they assume you are going to buy your own velcrow to keep from losing it. The idea that you need a stylus is very bad as with a Garmin your fingers do the work.
