If It Were Possible To Still Get Maps For This. It Would Be Amazing.
7 May 2014
Summary: This GPS is the ONLY one I have ever seen to have Sirius XM built in. I mainly bought this just for the Sirius XM and it does a very good job running the Sirius XM Radio! But on the other hand. the GPS is just plain crap. Bushnell no longer supports this and you cant even get maps or 3d satellite images for it anymore! But it is rugged and waterproof and as far as the GPS Goes. It does tell you your speed and is very accurate at that.
Summary: By Jeremy D. Wilson on April 25, 2014 Verified Purchase Worst purchase I ever made, bushnell were no help whatsoever, I ended up smashing the unit out of sheer frustration. This unit was advertised as waterproof but there was a 1 millimetre gap between the battery and the unit, so no way could it be considered anything proof. Everything else I have from bushnell is equally crap, highly recommend other manufacturers.
Outdated, Unit and Map Updates Discontinued Since 2008
26 February 2014
Summary: The Onix 400 was discontinued, and the ability to update was stopped in 2008. Owners are now unable to update maps at all. If you are looking to purchase an Onix 400, the best you will find is a unit with maps only 6 years old sold by someone who updated it right before Bushnell stopped its online map download service. If you are looking at a new unit, the maps could be as old as 2000, and you will not be able to update them.
Summary: slow to load maps, not as good as a phone now-a-days for normal navigation in the city. Works well in the woods, but the proprietor battery makes it cumbersome to take out to the wilderness. Regular batteries work best. Take some of those and you are good to do. I still use my little Magellan in the wilderness. Two batteries and it will go for 24 hours continuous.
Summary: could not say enough about how great this gps is....I upgraded from an old Magellan and found the best I have ever used. this gps not only gives you one of the best pictures but is incredible when it comes to ease of use and features.
Summary: I LIKE THE GPS BUT IT DOES NOT DO THE WEATHER. I'VE TRIED IN CONNECTING WITH THE SUPPLIER OF THE WEATHER - SIRIUS XM RADIO, SYK WATCH OR NAV WEATHER. BUT IT JUST DID NOT WORK! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT.
Summary: GPS was accurate, easy to read, and adjustable. Controls take time to get used to so if you want to backpack, I'd get it at least a few months in advance to learn the system, and though the 34 or so battery life is good it never hurts to buy an extra battery and charge it before the trip.
