Summary: This thing is waste of money.... save a little more and get a Garmin! The gps is cold mollasses slow to acquire signal to show you where you are, I could not get he computer program to operate correctly to track where I had been, and...and... and...
Summary: If you are looking for a basic GPS unit for hunting, this is the one. Having to be connected to the internet to be able to overlay your trip on a map is less than optimal. How often will you have internet access when you are hunting in the mountains????
Summary: I've owned a few "hiking" GPSs, but found them to be overly complicated. And I don't like having to re-read the manual every time I wanted to use them. This GPS is about as simple as it gets. The menus are few and fairly intuitive. My only gripe is that it does not have a "bread crumb" feature. But that would probably make it overly complicated like the others. If you just need to know which way to go to get back to a point, this will do the job just fine.
Bushnell Backtrack Point 5 Personal GPS for my son
David Mifsud, Amazon
12 March 2013
Summary: I bought this for my son who is a 9 year old adventurer as he is always wondering about whenever we go in the outdoors. My intention was that he does not get lost. The instrument is so precise. Works perfectly just a bit off when it points to orginial location. No big deal, its off by about 5 degrees of angle even after various calibration. I'm a perfectionist so most people would not even notice this.
Summary: this is the second bushnell back track 3 point gps i have purchased. i gave one to my son since we are both avid hunters and spend a lot of time in the woods. this device is simple to operate works well in a heavy canopy of trees.
