Conclusion: "Excellent value for money the only issue i have found is updating device software hard to find updates and also pc software when installed sometimes it can find device others it cannot and as its not plug n play with with windows.
Excerpt: I saw this priced at around £59.99 in a major supermarket and being then in-experienced in sat-nav I thought it would be a sufficient place to start, I did not want to splash out on state-of the-art navigation as it just was not essential for me. It works well enough. The settings are clear and easy to read with simple menu options such as the usual "go home" and "most recent destinations" quickly bringing up a short list of the last few entries which can be really...
A nice little unit that showed promise, but didn't deliver for us.

Excerpt: I consider myself fortunate, we won this sat nav at my partners works' christmas party last year in a free raffle for employees. If I had paid money for it I think I would have been disappointed. At first, we were over the moon, sat nav is not something we'd consider buying, but could be a useful tool as we go away camping many times a year to new places.
Summary: firstly, this is a bottom end spec sat nav, and therefor i cant be too harsh... it has limited route options and the address entry takes a while to bring up anything specific. it does choose some strange routes, and sometimes can give late notice of turns etc, but like i say, it isnt top of the range and i paid very little for it, so it is usefull if you are in an area you dont know.
Summary: I bought this Satnav based on the recommendation in a car magazine. It was given best buy and the price seemed reasonable too. I actually bought it for my wife as a chirstmas present and it tuned up nicely box well before christmas, so a little praise to Amazon...(this time) I decided to use the satnav myself on Feb 1st and drove from London to Birmingham. At first it wouldn't recognise the address that wanted to go to.
Binatone Carrera X350 Satellite Navigation System With UK & ROI Mapping

Summary: I have purchased a Binatone Carrera X350 Satellite Navigation System With UK & ROI Mapping and have used it on many short journeys and a few journeys from London to Devon & London To Selby, North Yorks. I find it to be a very useful device and even when it seems to take you down country lanes etc. if you investigate it is nearly always a shortest or quickest route even if not desirable.
Summary: I have used the Sat-Nav with no problems in the uk, but when you take it to Europe it does not cross some borders i.e no map sharing ! you can not navigate from France to Holland. You can navigate sucessfully within each country, but that is the extent of it. I suppose you get what you pay for.
Summary: It seems to me that this unit is a cheap and cheerful toy until you can get a "proper" satnav. My house was built 3 years ago and is not on the built-in map so its definitely at least 3 years old...there's been a lot of changes in the UK since then. The units' map, as far as I can see, cannot be updated.
