Excerpt: I can't help but think I am using a completely different sat nav as my experience of this machine is completely different! If you actually intend to find where you are going avoid this! Whilst it is compact and easy to set up, when it comes to actually navigating you anywhere you have had it.
Excerpt: i bought a binatone carrera A350 and when i tried to start the safety cam 6 month free trial i was informed i would have to go to binatonecarrera.com to register the device. After searching various sites i could not find any where to register the device. Finally i gave in and decided to contact binatone through the number given in the device user manual.
Binatone don't care once you have bought their product
Mr. A. M. Greenwood, Amazon
29 July 2009
Summary: Binatone products are fine when they work. Then when they go wrong you can be on their 'help line' for hours waiting for them to answer. They don't care once they have your money. I emailed them to complain that I couldn't get through to them on the phone. They didn't bother to reply. Beware.
Summary: Have the M&S version of the X350. The top clip of the holder snapped on the second use - M&S won't replace the holder as they define it as accidental damage, and have referred me to Binatone to buy a replacement. Binatone have refused to sell me a replacement holder. So I have a working sat nav that I cannot attach to the windscreen of my car - neither the retailer nor the manufacturer will let me buy a replacement holder.
Summary: Poor maps, poor directions, poor postcodes---POOR. Making life a whole less easier, and the slogan 'Drive like a local' should have 'local person who is lost' added to it. Apparently on speaking to Binatone customer service 'it is not as good as the last one, and the maps are coming from a different supplier' not the best help I fear. I am very disappointed after seeing some good reviews for it (Probably the older better version)on this page.
